Original and last cushion of this style, the duck egg blue wool designer British Isles Map Cushion is hand-embroidered with the map of Britain and Northern Ireland. It was in this colourway that Jan first created her map cushion and it is still loved today as a true Constantine classic. It is one of the most intricate designs in Jan’s luxury cushion collection and it stands out as unique, bearing many hallmarks of her designs.

This cushion is a masterpiece of embroidery which features Jan Constantine’s famous British Isles Map design, appliquéd and hand embroidered in cream wool onto a duck egg blue pure wool background. Each part of the British Isles map cushion is hand embroidered with the flowers of the realm of each country depicted, a Tudor rose for England, a thistle for Scotland, a daffodil for Wales and a shamrock for Ireland. There is also a hand-embroidered Union Jack flag, a compass and script detailing names of the surrounding seas. This cushion was inspired by the old vintage British Isles embroiderie.
